The Art of Schwanengesang - or, in French, "l'art du chant de cygne" - is a multi-lingual German duo, with Peter Eifel, singer extraordinaire (who handles the electric bass and guitars with the same ease as his voice) and the steady-as-a-rock drummer and percussionist Bernd Wegener. Having been around in different line-ups for 30 years, they still wield their unusual approach to songs, chansons and 'Lieder', some of which go back around 500 years. Schubert, Hendrix, Beatles, Dowland, Joni Mitchell, Shakespeare, Leonard Cohen or Marvin Gaye: no challenge lies beyond the reach of these eclectic gentlemen.

Their latest album, Joan's Revenge (2020, recorded with a small company of special guests), is yet another wild ride through rock, pop, soul and jazz, German romanticism and Renaissance, in English, German and French.
